Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine is immediately impressive with a wonderfully deep, saturated color reminiscent of black cherry juice. The aromas are equally enticing with blackberry, sweet dark plum, cedar and baking spices. On the palate the wine is exquisitely seductive with powerful dark berry flavors, seamless integrated French oak and plush tannins. Tasting this wine is akin to wearing a king’s royal robe made of cardinal red velvet. It’s compelling and suave, and proof that the fantastic 2007 vintage in Napa Valley is deserving of its praise. Lovely now, it will be fun to watch the 2007 Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon grow over the next 15 years. This is another brilliant effort from the Ackerman’s tiny vineyard in the hills east of the town of Napa. - Peter Marks, MW
